Quotes

Carole sent me this quote recently. I found it applicable to a conversation I had with Terri and some of her observations from this past weekend at the Detroit Kennel Club show:

The tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians, passed on from generation to generation, says that “when you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount.”

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” -
Albert Einstein

The glory of friendship
is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile nor the joy of
companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when
he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust
him.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of
character.”

“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried
anything new.”

“Not everything that counts can be counted, and not
everything that can be counted counts.” (Sign hanging in Einstein’s office
at Princeton)

“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very
persistent one.”

“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

—Wayne Gretzky

Two more of my favorite Albert Einstein Quotes:

“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.”

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the the universe.”

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.”

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

“The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax.”

—Albert Einstein, Genius
