Funny (Faye v Kirschental)

Saturday morning a few of us met at Julie’s for some show training.  Julie showed us a video about structure and movement, and then we went to her outdoor ring where she made us run laps!  Nick was learning to double handle Maika and run her off leash, Joe and Becky were learning to double Schumi, and I….don’t have a dog to show so I was the “handler” running either dog around in circles.

Schumi waiting his turn

Me pretending I know what I’m doing.  This pup is so wiggly!  He sure likes his mom and dad!  He must’ve stood still for .2 seconds to get this pic.  He’s such a fun puppy.  Looks like VP1 to me, hehe!

Not exactly gaiting but he still looks really nice!

Maika was so laid back and content, meanwhile Schumi just wanted to sprint.  So, we passed her.

“Here’s your nasty puppy back!”  lol, just kidding, I love Schumi he’s great.  Not sure what I am doing in this pic

Maika, so happy

I already posted my puppy picks earlier.  After we left Julie’s I had to work at my club’s table at the Animal Festival in Grand Rapids.

Finally Joe and I took some new pictures of the pup (well, Joe actually took them).  I ran around like an idiot and held up treats and such to get him to pose.  I think he is completely handsome!  We took him to play in the fields by one of my schools and then after that he got a bath.  Now he is so soft and clean!  I just hope he stays that way until the show on Saturday!  Below are my favorite shots of the day.

Maika at Camp Nick:

This was Bear’s idea not mine.  He cried for 30 minutes, he had already been out, he just wanted to go out and play.  he is back in now and quiet (and wet).

The storm is now over and no more lake in the backyard.  Now we have MUD.  Bear wants out to play in mud.  Maybe he will let me walk him instead?

Bear now has his own email address.

During this mini heat wave we thought it would be a good idea to turn on the underground sprinkling in the middle of the day to see if Schumi would like it.  He has always shown interest in it when it came on in the morning but we never let him play in it.  I think we have about six sprinklers in the front yard and he enjoyed running from one to the other barking and biting at the water.  They also change direction so he was trying to dodge the water a bit at the same time.  It was pretty fun for him and me.  Unfortunately I couldn’t get up too close for pictures because then I would be in the Dog Water Park also.

These pictures were from Saturday, later on Schumi had his Halti put on and it isn’t coming off for a few days.  Now he is the saddest dog in the world and is looking for much sympathy.  Unfortunately with his Halti on he isn’t being too cooperative with training.

Here are the pictures from the sprinkler fun.

For some reason he liked barking at this one the most.

I guess I can just roll around in the wet grass.

Rudi did remarkably well during Tropical Storm Faye. He knew that this wasn’t “normal” and also Julie had gone to great efforts to wear him down the day before. Fay came ashore due south from us in the middle of the night, and passed directly overhead before heading Northeast across State. We had near hurricane force winds and very heavy rains. In the pictures you will get an idea of what our front yard looks like after 7.75 inches of rain has fallen over a short period of time. Lucky for us Rudi doesn’t mind going out in the rain, unlike Hilda who is too demure to dampen her tooshie. We had the opportunity to show Rudi some water deeper than his play pool, but decided against it when we got reports that there was heavy pollution in the run-off (look who is standing in the polluted water…the big dummy). Anyway there wasn’t much damage except for some landscaping and we count our blessings that things weren’t worse. Peter
