Birthday!
Today is Margot’s birthday! Happy Birthday to our very special Margot!!! I hope you have a wonderful day.
Today is also the birthday of Maika’s litter the new A-litter. Starting with this litter I will be changing my naming convention. Instead of Alta-Tollhaus followed by the name, it will be the name first followed by vom Alta-Tollhaus. This is to help keep track of the litters.
Have I mentioned Maika was pregnant? Remember when Allie had her puppies and the whole village was here to whelp her puppies? Everyone in the village but me. That was because I was in Germany with Pala and Maika. I didn’t post while over there, no pictures, no stories. I was not feeling well and when I wasn’t taking care of getting the girls bred I was in my hotel room trying to rest and get better.
So Pala and Maika were both bred within days of each other. Both Pala and Maika had “missed” the last time they were bred. Maika last July and Pala last September. So I bred both Pala and Maika with the hope that one of them “takes.” Let me take a moment to explain the laws of dog breeding. If you have two females in season at the same time and only bred one of them, she will “miss.” But if both are bred then both will “take”. Do you follow that logic?
Maika was bred to the 2011 BSZS V10 Ypsilon vom Lärchenhain SchH3 KKL1. They call him Yoopsie. He is a really cool dog with super character. Very beautiful head piece, high whither, correct size, and good nerves. Yoopsie placed V10 at the Bundessieger Zucht Shau when he was only a few months over two years. He is a sired by VA Bojan vom Pendler, whose stud dog career ended early after he was injured breeding a female. Yes it does happen. Bojan is a son of 2x VA1 Vegas du Haut Mansard.

Agility Brags and Health Brags
Charlene (Veri V-litter) almost could do no wrong at the agility trail this past weekend double Q’ing with Tank her Harrier and Artemis her Aussie both Friday and Saturday.
Kim with “Bogey” MACH Alta-Tollhaus In The Rough XF also did very well and now have 18 double Q’s toward their second MACH (you need 20 double Q’s).
Laura and “Lance” Alta-Tollhaus Par Four BN RE TDX MX MXJ NAP NJP OF also double Q’d at the same trial.
My big health brag is I did the DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) tests on every single one of my dogs. Every single one came back Clear/Clear which means they will not develop DM nor do they carry the genes for it. I was very pleased to say the least!
