Just in case it is not obvious, I am very pleased with Ilea. And, she makes tracking look so easy!!!

Ivan’s 2nd Rally Novice Leg

August 21st, 2010 Lynda 9 comments

On Friday evening Ivan was in his second Rally Trial. The trial was held by the Wachusett Kennel Club in Fitchburg, MA. Ivan qualified with a score of 94 for his second Rally Novice B Leg. I will attach a link to the video. If you view it, we lost 3 points when I repositioned my feet in the first part of the 1, 2, 3 Steps Forward exercise. We then lost 3 points at the About Turn Right. I think Ivan got confused because the exercise was too close to a large post in the ring. I was very pleased with his attention. He finished 8th out of 22 dogs at two days shy of his 8 month birthday!

Final XBox and Allie

August 19th, 2010 Julie 10 comments

August 18th, final count 6 girls and 3 boys.  Nine puppies so it took some time but it went smoothly and quickly.  The puppies’ weights were absolutely perfect.  The smallest was 16 oz and the heaviest 18 ounces….and literally gaining weight in front of our eyes.

The pup that is sort of “arched” across the top of the other pups was the last born and she is still wet.

Monica’s First

August 19th, 2010 Julie 9 comments

All photos were shot with existing light -  overhead florescent light, no outdoor light.  I had the camera set wide open, high ISO, and slow shutter speed. You will notice some blurring and the very shallow depth of field.

A lot of motion in this image, Monica just extracted this pup from the sack and she is moving quickly to get the pup’s airway clear. If you look carefully you can see an air bubble coming from the pups nostril.

And she did it,  Monica just whelped her first pup! The pup is waving Hello.  Good job Monica!!!
