Chopper

“I think he’s starting to rival Chopper as the most photographed dog ever!”

Hey now, that’s only because I’ve been gone for two weeks! I kept over 500 photographs from our vacation (which means I took over 1500) so it is hard to choose which to share. I’ll start by sharing dog photos.

I love this one of Coke

On this evening, she tracked about 9 deer and a fox

My uncle’s insane dog, Della

My brother and his girlfriend kayaked over to a swimming hole and Della followed them swimming, so they had to push her back. She will literally fetch and swim until she drowns.

Tracking 2 does and 2 fawns

Coke LOVED boating…

… Chopper thought it was really dumb

Showing off her tan

More later…

A BIG congratulations to Kim LaSerra and her handsome GSD Bogey on completing their AKC Novice Agility-Jumpers title. The last two qualifying legs were first place wins.  The 1st leg might have been also?

Bogey is now:   Alta-Tollhaus In the Rough NA, NAJ, CGC, CL2

Litter brother, Lance,  also did well earning a1st place win and a qualifying leg in the Novice Agility class.  This was Lance’s AKC agility debut, but old-stuff for his owner Laura Green.

Lance’s full name and titles are (if I have everything):   U-CH Alta-Tollhaus Par Four CSL1-H, CSL1-S, CSL1-F, mHIC, AKC Tracking Certified

So . many . puppies!

We are leaving for vacation this afternoon and will be back Aug. 23. I will miss the blog! We will keep Kira in our thoughts. I will try to check in at the Internet cafe to see if she delivers while we’re gone.

Chopper wants you to know she’s still the top dawg

TTFN!

Thanks to the crate training of previous owners, both my dogs actually *like* crates. We don’t always crate them when we leave (depends on their mood and whether the house is clean or there’s things they could get into), but when we’re home the crate doors are opened and both dogs use them for short naps. Lately they’ve been using each others’ crates. Chopper looks like a puppy in Coke’s crate and I don’t know how or why he squeezes into hers. Must be “grass is always greener….”

Here’s a few snaps of Chopper in the yard

There’s the face I was going for!

“working” face

“Gimme all yer treats” face

And if you like other kinds of dogs, these are my cousin’s dogs. She went to a boat festival and my sister got the job of watching the dogs at my aunt and uncle’s house. Naturally, I invited myself over to use the pool. I didn’t bring Chopper because I hadn’t met these dogs before.

Amos (chocolate), Midge, and Tucker (black)

They care only for balls and swimming, preferably at the same time

Chopper at Phil’s softball game. She wears her pack when it’s cool so she can carry my phone, money, keys, and camera (I hate wearing a purse). People ask if she is a Service Dog so we explain that she is a certified therapy dog which is different. They are encouraged to pet a therapy dog (as long as they ask first) but should not pet a working Service Dog. She likes going to softball because the crowds are manageable and she likes to lay in the shade at our feet.

Coke stalking a rabbit (blurred in the background). He had to wear a sock while his wound scabbed over.

Chopper and her lazy sit

Messing with high contrast

Itchin’, must be time for Frontline

I didn’t let Coke wrestle for a few days while his wound dried so the dogs were ready to go!

Sometimes it’s hard to tell where one dog ends and the other begins

Their way of hugging

The hack job I did on his ears has grown in and now he looks pretty good (I think)

*Yawn* Must be tough playing all day
