November 14, 2008 CPE Agility, Dexter, MI:
Lance (GSD)
New Title - CPE CTL1-S and CTL2-R
Results for the Day:

Standard (L2) - Q-1st

Snookers (L2) - Q-1st
Jumpers (L3) - Q-1st

He was a gooooooood boy. We got First place in every class and in jumpers moved up to level 3 and he was clean and clear.   He was clean and clear in every run…and his “Colors” run the course time was 36 seconds and he ran it in 13.64 with his mom a huffing and a puffing behind him.    Never did manage to catch that boy and I even took the short cuts when I could.

So, Ms. Julie, for his page under competition dogs, here’s his new title line since he closed out his level 1 and that changes how it now reads……(and to correct a typo I had in the one I gave you last week)….ooops to me, must of been the excitement of the AKC titles.

“Lance”
U-CH U-AGI Alta-Tollhaus Par Four TD, NAP, NJP, NAC, CTL1, CTL2-R, CSL1-H, CSL1-S, CSL1-F,mHIC

The CTL1 comprises 4 titles (CTL1-R, CTL1-F, CTL1-H and CTL1-S), in case you wonder, why his line shrunk.   It’s like what they do for the VCD1, which is your CD, your TD and the two novice agility titles all rolled up into one thing.

We’ve trialed 3 weeks in a row and been doing well, I am proud of him,
and we even earned another title. Look at this pic’s Charlene took
- I just love the intensity of his start-line stay and Charlene is so
good at taking pictures.

ITZ NADAC Agility Trial in Manhattan, IL:

Thought I’d update Lance’s titles for you, so you don’t have to figure out what’s what behind his name - (three new titles to add).   He’s such a good boy - we are up to a dozen titles and one certificate, now if we work on and get the CD we are sitting all ready to get that first versatility title (VCD1) - eeek, but that won’t be til next year me’s think.   New titles inserted below:

Well, we went and showed CPE on Friday (Oct 24th), then went and did ASCA in the rain (brrrr and wet) to support the folks of ASC of Michigan, at the Kzoo Kennel Club on Saturday (Oct 25th).   Was thinking of going to go back to do CPE on Sunday, but was too exhausted from Saturday’s rainy, coldy, wet “loooonnnng” day.
So, here’s what the boy did - I was very, very, proud of his work.   No titles, but legs earned and they were wonderful.
CPE, CSRC at Dexter, MI (Oct 24, 08):
Standard, Round 1 (L2), Q-1st.
Standard, Round 2 (L2), Q-1st.
Wildcard (L2), Q-1st (this had a SCT of 41 and he ran it clean in 16.95 seconds - whew!).
Jumpers (L2), Q-1st.
ASC of Michigan, Kalamazoo, MI (Oct 25, 08):
Novice Standard, Q-1st.
Novice Gamblers, Q-1st.
Novice Jumpers, Q-1st.
He got some real nice compliments all weekend about being a “handsome” boy, as well as running nice, doing nice contacts and I never once had a “weave” issue - yeah.   Though “his owner” did cause him to have 2 NQ’s.    Ha!   Dog good, owner bad!!!!

I am proud of him doing so well the past 3 weekends in 3 different agility venues. He got some real nice compliments all weekend about being a “handsome” boy, as well as running nice, doing nice contacts and I never once had a “weave” issue - yeah.   Though “his owner” did cause him to have 2 NQ’s.    Ha!   Dog good, owner bad!!!!

Folks wondering where I got such a handsome dog.  This past weekend at the KKC in Kzoo, there must have been quite a few females in heat/season cause he had a real hard time going potty cause his nose kept distracting his mission.   What a silly teenager.   But, he is helping me cope with the loss of my Maggie girl with agility - something I love to do and he’s making it fun.    So, thanks for a wonderful dog.  Laura

Laura and Lance went and played at NADAC agility on Saturday October 11th.  Charlene was entered also and took the picutres below with her 20 year old film camera.

Lance’s wins for Saturday are:

NADAC Agility Trial  - Montpelier, OH
Lance was 5 for 6 for qualifying runs, they were as follows:
Standard Novice - Round 1 - Q-1st.
Standard Novice - Round 2 - Q -2nd.
Touch-n-Go - Q-1st.
Weavers - Q-2nd.
Tunnelers - Q-1st.

Laura says: “I was (and so was Charlene) impressed with his “yards per second” speed since she says he has to be fast to do the Elite (their name for Excellent) courses.    He started out slow with a 2.94 yps (he had to stop and look at the rubber matting on the contacts), but then he went up with speed as the day progressed to a 4.76 and 4.87 run.   (though handler went down on her speed). ”
