Chopper

You guys have such nice yards! Our yard has not been mowed since Oct and the bugs are getting SO bad. Phil e-mailed the landlord, and they’re going to pay us to maintain the yard (and by pay us I mean not raise the rent). That’s nice since now I can move my agility stuff whenever *I* feel like it.

I did take some snaps last night after the rain. If I haven’t told you already, I have an obsession with water drops.

And some tulips on the patio where I work (Dutch school, we ALWAYS have tulips!)

Oh yeah, this is a DOG blog

Hi Julie,

I took the camera out with us this afternoon while Gabe playing frisbee in the ‘big yard’.  He knows the pile of wood is his yard boundary and the frisbee was on the opposite side.  Thus the picture–

Gabe (Narro x Dastra) is a litter brother to Mack, Chopper, Chevy, Filly, and Blue

A hacksaw, $20 of PVC pipes and fittings, and one hour of work gets you a full dozen set of channel weaves.

Chopper demonstrates what NOT to do by popping out early (but it’s about having fun right?)

The car is now protected, and Chopper, ever eager to practice “load!”ing, models for us

“But mom, it smells wieeeeeeeerd.”

The dogs are happy we finally have grass, and grass that is not soggy. Chopper can beat up on her big little brother every day.

It’s scratching season again.

Someone needs to mow the lawn (not me).

Stop munching grass for two seconds so I can take a pic. Actually, please stop munching grass, period.

My lovely yard, before it gets littered with my plastic agility stuff.

Did someone train Chopper in German?  Either she was already trained for German and Dutch commands, or she really CAN read my mind!  I think the errors we sometimes make in rally are because I am inconsistent with my commands and tone of voice, so I decided to go for a new level of precision and switch to a conglomeration of German and Dutch words I’d previously chosen.   It took all of about 5 minutes.  Wow, she is smart.  I think she reads minds…

Starting up in Dutton, MI, near Grand Rapids. Kim LaSerra and her boogie-woogie, goof-ball dog, Bogey, competed at the Leaps and Bounds CPE Agility Trial on Saturday April 26th.

Results are:

  • FIRST place Standard round one
  • FIRST place Standard round two
  • 2nd place Colors run
  • 2nd place Jackpot run

Swinging down to Edwardsburg, MI, near no-where. Laura Green was giving the breed ring another successful go with her handsome Lance, winning Best of the Champion class at the ECHO UKC conformation show. This was Lance’s 2nd Champion leg toward his Grand Championship. Laura also showed Jean in obedience earning FIRST place in Novice C class.

Over to Dexter, MI, near AA. Kari was competing at the Total Dog Sports USDAA agility trial. I think this was Hurri’s first time competing in USDAA? Hurri earned a FIRST place in Jumpers. The other runs Kari chose to run as practice runs since Hurri is recently recovered from a sprain and didn’t want to over do it. I heard through the grapevine that Hurri was her normal “full-of-herself” self. Glad to hear it, I love her attitude!

Bogey and Lance are Chopper kids.

Notice I did not use the word “fat” to describe any of the above dogs, I am not saying that any of them are but if the shoe fits and all that….
