For Ann and Chuck
Looking at Felix’s pictures, they reminded me so much of some that I have of Schumi from last winter! They have the same facial expression I think. Completely handsome of course!
You can see Funny in both of them.
Well, it’s another snow day for me so I suppose Schumi and I could go outside to get some more current pictures! That is, if we can see each other – can’t see across the street and it’s supposed to be like that all day!
Short Story
No pictures with this post, just a quick story that I wanted to share with you all. I was taking Schumi on a walk down our street, and on the way back a dog came running out of someone’s backyard and began lunging, snapping, and growling at Schumi. I didn’t really know what to do, I backed up and kept turning Schumi around out of the dog’s face, but the dog kept tripping me and wouldn’t leave us alone. This happened probably for only a few seconds (although it seemed like a long time), and the whole time Schumi kept his cool. He never snapped back or growled, even when the dog was right in his face. He was kind of just looking at him like “what is your problem?!” Luckily, my kind neighbors next door were yelling out the window that they were going to come out and help, and then the owner came. She called and called her dog, finally the dog went to her and that was that. My neighbor made sure to tell the dog’s owner that her dog wasn’t friendly (I was fighting back tears and couldn’t really talk - ridiculous I know!), and the lady apologized to me. I don’t know what I would have done if that dog’s owner didn’t come. Anyway, the real point of this story is to thank Julie. Thank you Julie for breeding such great dogs and for giving me Schumi with his wonderful temperament!
Nice Summer Day
Michigan really has had a nice summer. Not too many hot days, not much rain (I don’t care if we get rain because we have underground sprinkling!)
Well, these pictures aren’t the greatest, but I wanted to post a couple of them just because. Schumi’s itchy spots are gone and his coat is looking much more healthy, at least I think so anyway.
His front feet aren’t perfect here, but I like this picture because I think it shows that he’s looking more grown up! Hal thanks for editing this picture for me!
We got him a bandana in Germany. I also got him this red leather swiss collar that some other dogs in Germany were wearing and I liked it. I bought more stuff for Schumi on the trip than I did for myself! :-/ Sad, huh?
Ah… The Love of Water
Well, I am officially on summer vacation now and I have no idea what to do with myself. Other than taking one grad class and going to Europe in a few weeks with Joe, I have no huge plans as of yet. I plan on having a really clean house, and training with Schumi. It’s a bit pathetic!
Since it’s been pretty warm lately, I’ve been getting the kiddie pool out for Schumi, only to discover that he does not care about it and will paddle all of the water out that I spent 10 minutes putting in. He loves the hose though, so I just take that out now and he runs around the backyard chasing/drinking the water and is completely pooped when he’s done. Works for me!
I took all of these pictures with my small digital, so they aren’t the greatest! I still think they are cute though!
This picture below I had to put in, although it’s unrelated to the ones above. Joe put granite underneath the rocks in Schumi’s kennel so that he couldn’t dig himself out, and he has discovered the exact small spots where there isn’t any. He’ll dig for a few minutes, and then he’s done!
