Hey guys! As more and more moves to Facebook and other social media, I really want to make sure that I continue to post Steve updates here. (Hopefully writing this keeps me honest in doing so!)
This summer has really sucked, I’ll just be honest, but we are still further ahead than we were in the Spring so I have to think in those terms! We are in Eastern Washington and it has been unbearably hot out, we have also had unhealthy air quality due to wildfires for a few weeks now, if that wasn’t enough I am stuck working so much unwanted overtime, a lot of Steve’s training/ and titling is progressing a lot slower than I would have hoped. With that said, let me share with you what we have accomplished since we last checked in when he got his SG1 at the US Sieger.
Most importantly, I finally tracked down a good vet in my area and got his x-rays for OFA and A stamp (results pending) – We started Steve on tracking and he loves it!! I found food that he actually responds to in training!!, hot dogs ( and not the cheap Walmart kind, he spits those out) the apparently wonderful Nathan’s hot dogs! 🙂 Between these hot dogs and using his ball I have improved his focus work ten fold.
Steve graduated his first competition obedience class a couple months ago. Today he finished up the next class in the series. The instructor asked if he wanted to move on but I elected to keep him in the intermediate level one more time because we missed a good half of the classes! Though my first goal is his BH, what I love about these classes is they walk you through the AKC obedience trials and the classes are held where they host them so he will be completely used to the environment.
I think that’s it for now, oh the other secret, that is probably really obvious 🙂 lol Steve sleeps in his crate the night before training. It’s crazy how much more attentive he is to me than if I forget and let him sleep on the bed. Alright enough jibber jabber, here are some pictures of my Steve-O.

Hi Julie,
Sorry to hear you are having a bad summer. Ours has been very busy at work also, with unavoidable O/T too. We were fortunate to have today off together and took Aiden to Provincetown. Sorry to post right after you did.
Hope you get good results from the xrays and glad your obedience classes are going well.
Love these pictures of Steve.
Glad to see updates on the blog for the pups. I am backing away from facebook and enjoy seeing postings here. These are great pics of Steve. When you you plan to try for his BN?
