The idea is they plant their front feet on the raised surface and to get them to rotate in either direction by moving their rear feet. This exercise helps them learn rear-end coordination and 3 main positions directly in front of you – for the recall; to your left, heeling and basic position; and right side (just like heel position) for agility work
