Roman’s first race

Roman ran in his first 5k today. We ran the race in Corktown. There were about 5000 runners and Roman did fantastic. He’s never been in a crowd that large before, but he showed no signs of being nervous or scared. In fact, he was quite the ham…received tons of pets, lots of complements and a hot dog from a by stander. He stopped on the route occasionally to sniff the corned beef stands, but otherwise kept up a great pace. All of the Detroit police officers along the way said what a beautiful dog he is. We shared a protein drink, some whole wheat pasta and tofu after the race. It was a great day!

  1. This makes me laugh. Roman totally thinks he is a Rita mini-me, Ok maybe a Rita not-so-mini-me. Whatever Rita does he has to do too. I know how crowded those races can be and that is absolutely super that Roman took it all in stride!

Looks like you and Roman had a great time!

    • Roman is for sure a mini me! I should have named him Shadow. He’s always within 2 inches of me and has got to do whatever I do…he’s the best :)

  2. Great job Rita and Roman :) . What fun and excitement for you two!
Gia never leaves me alone either-they must be similar that way. I totally adore that little dog. Roman looks SO handsome. take care and give Roman a soon to be 1 year old hug and kiss from his little sis….
