Polarizing Filter

Let me begin by saying that I should know better than to not listen to The Boss! Julie said that when I use the new filter, I need to take before and after pix so that we can compare the difference. Did I listen? no… I thought I had a shot of the same spot with just the UV filter, but I was wrong. Next trip out there, I will do as I was told! There were NO gators today and I had intended to use them as my test model so it is their fault!

Old, inexpensive polarizing filter:

New B+W Polarizing Filter:

Inexpensive UV Filter:

B+W Polarizing Filter – same tree different birds:

These were all taken around the same time of the day. I really needed a gator today! My gator shot with the old polarizer showed great reflection where the UV filter had none or very little. I was hoping to see what results I would get with the new polarizer.

Haha, I did the same thing with my polarizer. Bought a relatively cheap one and while it works pretty well, it was causing vingetting on the wide angle end, supposedly the most useful side for landscapes. I just recieved my new B + W thin polarizer and was planning to try it out today.
