Macros take 2
Better this time! I got my adapter on the lens I wanted to use. It doesn’t fit very snug and blew off once but it’s way easier to shoot and I like the results better. However it was really windy, do you know how hard it is to do sharp macros in the wind? :{
I started playing with aperture priority. The pics below have basically been cropped, possibly straightened, and maybe sharpened a tad. No real change to color/saturation, this is how they came. I do not use Photoshop so I have very limited post-processing capabilities. Please tell me these are not Martha Stewart colors! I love these particular lillies for the range of color. I actually drove back home to get my camera when I saw they were in bloom.

I don’t like the crop on this one, but it’s difficult with the amount of vignetting I get from the macro adapter, and I really wanted to leave the teal color in the top right, I love that color.

Here’s an example of the vignetting I get at a wider angle. I guess I just have to choose between having to crop a bit, or having to put the adapter on the more telephoto lens and then dealing with the super shallow DOF and difficulty getting sharpness.

Same thing zoomed in farther and cropped square

I think this one was done without the macro adapter and with the 55-200mm lens on auto. I like the composition and wanted that second flower in the background. It was tricky having to be farther away and lean back to point up.

Crits welcome!

Super cool photos, Lies. Those colors are unbelievable.
Look like Martha Stewart colors to me. Don’t you think so, Julie? Yeah—Martha on drugs! I like the last photo the best.
I like the teal also and was wondering what it’s coming from?

I went out and looked. All I could think of was this evergreen bush that is sort of teal. I guess in bokeh it could look solid teal.
