Wildlife part II

*shudder*

Pitcher plant bog board walk

This is a beach house behind us.  This county is in an official state of emergency because of flooding and this particular property is flooded.

My brother really wanted to catch a shark.  We can’t cast deep enough, and the water on the ocean is too rough for our boat, so instead he made this shark rig.  First he flies a kite out over the ocean.  Then, he puts a small rubber band around the kite string.  Hanging from this band is the shark rig (a line with the bait and hooks).  Using another pole also attached to this band, he slowly lets the line out so the shark rig goes out into the ocean by way of the kite string.  It actually worked as planned but the wind changed and the kite went upshore rather than out to sea.

I don’t know if you like fish pictures or not but we got redfish, bluefish, flounder, pompano, spanish mackerel, and sheephead.  Red snapper have to be released and any stingrays or skates get released.

    Where are you?

The fishing sounds like it is pretty good there if you are catching all of that from shore. If you ever want to surf fish for shark, then you need to visit me!

Your pictures are to die for. I have a D100 & D200 with a variety of VR lenses and I just realized I have much to learn from you and many others on this blog.

Bowing my head out of respect to the great vacation photos and to the other photographers here from past postings. Anyone looking for an ever grateful apprentice?? ;-)

Is that a swimming pool in the yard of the flooded house?

Your brother’s kite idea is ingenious.

Please post the fish pictures! I am enjoying the pictures!
