HA Julie H! Now those MI people know what whimps we are! But you're right. Kayla thought I was nuts when I put her pool away. I should have let it out...now she in to bigger and better (or worse!) things...like landscape lighting.

Margot, Brr...Carole is right, much too cold! I told Rudi yesterday it was too cold to put water in his pool (youv'e ratted me out) instead he played and carried his pool all over the yard, just let him have his way. Hopefully, tomorrow it will be upper 70's :)and I can wash dogs.

Great photos of the dogs playing, eagle is especially nice. Julie H

Julie,

I always use the same lens 'cuz it is the most versatile and lightweight one that I own - Sony 18 - 250. I use it handheld and it's sharp enough to allow me to photograph the dogs and birds from a great distance and then crop severely and still get a passable snapshot most times. The eagle, for example, was shot at 250 and only comprised about one eighth or less of the total frame. I think it also helps that I shoot RAW. If I am shooting professionally like you, then I clean up my act a little and take a monopod and bigger, heavier, longer lenses - ugh!

WOW

I have not seen a Bald Eagle since leaving Northern Minnesota.

Gorgeous pictures! Those dogs are crazy, but they are suppose to be all-weather dogs!

What lens did you use to shoot the Bald Eagle?

Hi, Carole,
Cold weather = no crowds = no leashes = lots more fun! I always dress in layers and my outermost layer is a long down coat, so, although I probably look like an upright walking woolly bear caterpillar, I am comfortable no matter what Mother Nature throws at me. My dogs decide for themselves if it is too cold to go in the water. If it is too cold, then they splash at the edge and forego swimming. Thank goodness!
