My newest “animal” addition…
Posted by Liesje under Chopper
Ain’t she a beaut’? Or as my boss says, “it really sucks”, har har har.

Feel free to comment about how jealous you are, or how I should have “adopted” one of these sooner (assuming you all have one).

It works really well. I got mine for half off so it was a steal. On normal carpet, it’s not THAT much better than my old one, but the attachments and the “bare floor” setting put all other vacuums to shame. Since we live in a weird split-level that’s 4 levels, we have a lot of stairs. The stair attachment is amazing. Also, the attachments for upholstery. I cleaned out my car with my dad’s shop vac and then did it again with the Dyson b/c there was so much dog hair left behind.
The only trouble so far is the power. It sucks so much power, it shorted out my outlet at work and then blew a fuse at home. I need to upgrade my electrical to match my vacuum. I’m sure the landlord will be thrilled if I suggest it…

So it works well on hardwood floors? My sister has been swearing by the Dyson. I have a Miele and am quite disappointed with it. We’ve burned out three vacuums in the last 6 years. It takes something with industrial strength to stand up to the bales of shepherd hair around here!

It works well compared to my old one. I’m not sure how it stacks up against other quality vacuums. My old one threw off a lot of heat and would basically blow the hair AWAY from the vacuum. The Dyson sucks it right up. I vacuum every day or every other day though, so there’s not too much build-up. Often I just do the hard floors after the stairs and go around the baseboards with the stair attachment and that’s enough.
