Plethora of Brags

Starting up in Dutton, MI, near Grand Rapids. Kim LaSerra and her boogie-woogie, goof-ball dog, Bogey, competed at the Leaps and Bounds CPE Agility Trial on Saturday April 26th.

Results are:

  • FIRST place Standard round one
  • FIRST place Standard round two
  • 2nd place Colors run
  • 2nd place Jackpot run

Swinging down to Edwardsburg, MI, near no-where. Laura Green was giving the breed ring another successful go with her handsome Lance, winning Best of the Champion class at the ECHO UKC conformation show. This was Lance’s 2nd Champion leg toward his Grand Championship. Laura also showed Jean in obedience earning FIRST place in Novice C class.

Over to Dexter, MI, near AA. Kari was competing at the Total Dog Sports USDAA agility trial. I think this was Hurri’s first time competing in USDAA? Hurri earned a FIRST place in Jumpers. The other runs Kari chose to run as practice runs since Hurri is recently recovered from a sprain and didn’t want to over do it. I heard through the grapevine that Hurri was her normal “full-of-herself” self. Glad to hear it, I love her attitude!

Bogey and Lance are Chopper kids.

Notice I did not use the word “fat” to describe any of the above dogs, I am not saying that any of them are but if the shoe fits and all that….

Snake and Tick

0069.jpg

I saw my first garter snake of the year. I recognize her, don’t ask me how I know she is a “she” I can just tell. She is getting big. She also looked at me and I could see she also recognized me.  I could hear her say to me, you b**** you are the one that put in pavers and kicked me out of my home under the porch. I said , yes that was my porch, glad you don’t live there any more and you seem to be doing just fine. After that exchange we parted company for the time being.

Also had my first tick of the season. I wonder if I need to start a tick-jar like we had to do in Minnesota. It is a little gross but practical.  You keep a jar filled with a couple inches of alcohol and when you find a tick you drop it in.  Easier and quicker then burning them.

Instead of a picture of the snake or the tick, here is one of my daffodils.
