Two Months

Hugo is VERY smart.  He’s already sitting every time he comes in from pottying and the crate training is very smooth.  He adjusted to the leash quickly and is even doing the 3 steps in
and out to go potty.  I took the large trash dumpster out to the curb and he was tagging along right behind.  Usually my pup’s are a bit afraid at this age.  The dumpster makes alot of
noise.
He absolutely loves the kiddie pool I put out on the deck.  I’ve been cracking up as he jumps in and out of the water….very cute !  My other shepherd has really accepted having
another dog in the house ( as usual ).  He snuggled up with Hugo last night on the dog bed.

Deuce Report

What a GREAT day! No in house mishaps and this is the smartest animal in the world. It seemed to all
come together today. Sit, Down, Eye contact, Stay, he was just awesome! I know we have a long way to go, but man-o-man did he boost my confidence today. Went to the girls Cross Country practice and
in the midst of all the distraction he was still perfect, just took a second for him and he was on queue! (That’s my boy!) Absolutely Outstanding! Parents were stump he was sitting and doing down at
eight weeks. I told them it was all the dog and breeder!  Kim was a little dismayed upon arrival from work and I was cooking on then grill. She stated “Oh great, I really did not want to cook”
and asked “What’s for dinner” My reply “Peanut Butter Garlic Chicken” Her reply “It’s for the @#%^& dog isn’t it” My reply “That’s my Boy”

Great!

Deuce is getting acclimated. He is a very good boy! He has had some #1

accident in the house, but we are getting to know his body language. So far

he:

Chases the ball, it’s a little big to bring back!

Plays tug!

Loves my big toe as a substitute chew toy!

Loves the girls!

Explores everywhere!

Up and down the outside steps! So much for the ramps I built!

Is meeting tons of people.
We’ve had one great training session on eye contact. I seem to be missing

the “opportunities”. I believe he’s gradually getting acclimated and

becoming less distracted. I am totally amazed on how quickly he learns. I am

going out right now to take him to the bathroom and I will send some

pictures we have taken. I have bothered you much during this process that I

was trying to give you a break, that’s why I didn’t write right away. We are

so very happy with you and letting us take care of Deuce!
Thanks so very much!

Puppy Classes

I’m so excited about the future for the two of us.  I signed him up for puppy class at Ann Arbor Training Center starting July 6.  I would still like to come to your class too, so
we’ll be getting a good start.  I’ve tried to reach the Dexter facility, and they don’t seem to want to return my calls.

The Clean Run magazine you gave me has been extremely informative.  I’m studying for my upcoming scientific conference, so I haven’t had a lot of time for pleasure reading, but I have at least
skimmed the books too.  I don’t plan on doing agility, but I’m very open to different obedience techniques.

If you have any time on Sunday, I’d love to come out one last time before my trip.  Otherwise, give him a big squeeze for me !
